The Pacific Community (SPC) is the principal scientific and technical organization supporting sustainable development in the Pacific region. It serves 27 member countries and territories, fostering cooperation to address regional challenges like climate change, health, education, food security, and sustainable resource management.

 

SPC provides expertise in areas such as fisheries, agriculture, forestry, disaster resilience, and public health, ensuring culturally appropriate and evidence-based approaches. It emphasizes capacity-building and collaboration, empowering Pacific communities to achieve economic resilience and social well-being while preserving their cultural heritage.

In 2024 our ECG team travelled to both SPC head offices in Fiji and New Caledonia to review their travel management system. This work included analysis of various travel related contracts and policies as well as 360-degree engagement with different SPC staff and stakeholders. We provided a series of recommendations for immediate, interim and long-term improvements to their growing travel management needs.
